Master Bedroom Transformation: Green, Brown, and Natural Elements
When I moved into my home, I knew I had many projects ahead of me. My home is fabulous--it's in tip top shape and does not need a ton of boring yet practical work, such as a roof or windows. The older gentleman who lived here actually incorporated a variety of modern elements, as well as those that were custom and unique. As a result, my home was unlike any other that I had looked at and was the perfect fit for me.
Like any home, you need to make it your own, which I was planning on doing. The biggest project is continuing to remove the wallpaper and border in my home, which I'm still doing!
To start off, see the below photos of what the master bedroom looked like when I first looked at the house! The windows were new, and outside of the border, there wasn't a ton of major work outside of border removal, painting, and decorating. Thank goodness the walls were white!
The first thing I tackled was taking down the border. Since I redid my bedroom long before I had the blog, I didn't take a lot of photos during the project (but I have plenty of after!). Don't worry--I am planning on doing a wallpaper removal post--I have become an expert!
After taking down the wallpaper, I painted the walls with Behr paint in Fresh Olive, which I think look great with the pop of the white molding and white closet doors. I purchased a new nightstand, comforter, and lamp.
I inherited a fabulous mid-century bookshelf from my grandma, that was pretty scratched up. I absolutely loved it and wanted to use it. I ended up doing my first chalk paint project with this bookshelf (I could do another post on that too!), and I think the dark brown paint turned out fabulous!
One of my other favorite things to do is to shop for all the decor accessories, including wall art and bookshelf decor, which is a mix of new and vintage items!
Take a look at the photos of my final project! I've added some thoughts and info on each photo and also linked up items (some the same, some similar) from my room at the bottom!
I hope you enjoyed a look at my bedroom. Here are some similar items linked below!
