Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice: Fall 2020 Home Decor Updates
Fall is one of my favorite times of year for home decor! Next to Christmas, there is nothing like fall decor. I was able to get my house all ready for fall at the end of August, and it feels great to have it all completed and festive!
Last year, I was able to provide an update on my fall decor (click here to read). Many of the things I did were not all that different from last year, but I was able to add a few new pieces and freshen it up, so I figured I would go ahead and do a blog post with all my photos and links easily accessible.
FAMILY ROOM
In my lower level family room, I definitely have a rustic and industrial farmhouse vibe with a little bit of Craftsman taste thrown in! I have always opted to stick with this cozy vibe with lots of warmth! Ever since I took down my wallpaper and painted my walls, I have switch to more neutral, earthy tones with a mix of brown, tan, beige, golds, and ambers with a pop of green as opposed to more pops of red. I still have the red thrown in (it works great for fall and Christmas!) but am liking more of these soft, natural tones. As a result, I have updated my fall decor in my family room to match the new vibe, as you can see in the photo above and below!
I ended up re-using my “Thankful” Mantel sign again this year, along with my LED fall leaf string lights from Amazon. I used these lights in my fireplace florals last season but am liking the warm light they add on the mantel. I also updated my fall florals on the fireplace with some wheat grass placed with older florals, such as burnt orange flowers and pumpkins. I decided to keep one of my best selling throws from Amazon in my blanket basket (I will update it for the holidays!) to soften the warm fall colors.
One of my favorite all-year decor additions that I made this spring was this gorgeous Lazy Susan from Lakota Lane, a small business that creates hand-crafted wood decor products. This Lazy Susan is gorgeous walnut with green epoxy in-lay. It can be used for serving or for decor, but I absolutely love the earthy tones and pop of green in my family room. I have been using this on my coffee table since the spring and have been changing up the decor to match the seasons (click here to read my original blog post on the Lazy Susan). I just made a couple simple changes including the additional of this Magnolia Home vase and florals from Target and this fun wooden pumpkin from Big Lots.
In the photo below, you can see it from another angle! I’m linking up everything at the bottom of the family room section except for the black lantern, which is now sold out at Big Lots.
Don’t forget you can save 10% on any handcrafted piece from Lakota Lane by using my code Kristen10.
One of the last areas I added some updated fall decor to was my wine bar! All I did was use my other string of LED fall leaf lights to create some ambience with a vintage gold pumpkin candy dish! My other Lakota Lane piece, this gorgeous cutting board, is used as a display piece for now and is easily accessible for serving cheese (here is my original post on the cutting board). Again, don’t forget to use my code Kristen10 to save 10% at Lakota Lane.

KITCHEN & DINING ROOM
I actually did not change up too much in either the kitchen or dining room from last year. My centerpiece on my kitchen table continues to be one of my top Pinterest pins! I am linking up what I can from each of these decorative centerpieces.
I have been using this pumpkin wreath as a centerpiece for many years, as it has been used both in my kitchen and now in my dining room! It was a TJ Maxi find and a great find! I cannot find the exact one, but I will link up similar!
LIVING ROOM
Last, but not least, I’m sharing just a few of the pieces I was able to pick up for my fireplace in my formal living room. This still remains the one area of my home that still needs major finishing, but it is coming along! I added a few new pieces and re-used older decorative pieces for a finished look!
I created a focal point on the center of the mantel by stacking these two fall decorative pieces from Big Lots. One says “Gather Together” (linked up), and the other is a wood pumpkin that says “Thankful” (sold out). Last year, I got this pumpkin lantern from QVC (still available) and used it on one corner while placing this cream pumpkin sticks in my vintage milk glass vase on the other!
I”m linking up my pumpkin lantern, as well as similar milk glass vases with my Big Lots finds below!
