Review of SpaceJoy: Planning Interior Design Ideas for My Living Room
You guys, I cannot believe that I will have lived in my house for nearly five years this summer! Time sure flies. Despite being here five years, I’m STILL working on areas in my home for decor and design. I slowly do it as I have the money!
One of the last rooms that needs total design is my formal living room. I live in a split level house from 1965, so I have the rec room and a formal living room. I never had enough furniture to fully furnish both rooms, which is why the living room has been left empty for all this time. I have slowly been working on it though—-taking down wallpaper, painting, and ripping up carpeting have all been part of the process!
To give you an idea of what it looks like now, here are some of my current photos of the room:
As I have been working on this room and brainstorming, I was so excited to have had the opportunity to work with Spacejoy—an online interior design studio that provides 3D images of your home! In addition to the images and ideas to work from, they work within your budget and provide you products that you can actually purchase and incorporate into your home design.
This is a sponsored blog post in which I had the opportunity to try Spacejoy free of charge and was compensated for my blog posts. All thoughts and opinions on my experience are my own.
THE EXPERIENCE
Signing up and using the website (www.spacejoy.com) was so easy. It took less than a couple minutes to create the account, and I was immediately transported into a quiz that allowed me to answer all types of questions about my room, my tastes, design Ideas I may have already had, as well as basic information like room measurements. I had to capture actual photos of my room which were then used to create the 3D image. This was all fairly easy and quick to accomplish!
FIRST CONCEPTS
After about a week, I received an email from my interior designer, Maria, that she had created two room concepts for me to review. I was really impressed with both! I also could not get over how well the 3d images captured what my room looked like! It was amazing.
I liked that both concepts integrated my tase and the feedback that I had provided the interior designer. They incorporated concepts that I already was brainstorming, so it was great to see it in action! I also liked how one was definitely more geared to my taste, while the other brought in some concepts that were slightly different than what was in my head, but it was great to see different ways the room could look.
Here are photos of the two concepts!

FINAL CONCEPT
After reviewing both concepts, I definitely felt Concept One was more my taste, but I wanted to integrate a few components from Concept Two, which included the Bible verse wall hanging, the blanket ladder, and the decor by the fireplace.
I was able to provide feedback to Spacejoy, and they quickly went to work on adjusting the concepts to provide me a final concept. I was so pleased and cannot wait to get to work on integrating these ideas into my own home. Plus, it’s great that I can have access to the actual products to purchase them! See the final Concept below.
I absolutely highly recommend this interior design service and platform. It is great if you do not have a designer’s touch and need lots of help. If you have ideas in your head, this is a great way to work with someone to help make those visions come to life and provide you products to quickly shop and add to your room in no time!
What do you guys think of the process? What was your favorite concept?
I’m so excited to get to work on my room!
