An Afternoon at Blo Blow Dry Bar--Cleveland's Only Blow Dry Bar!
As a fashion and beauty magazine reader, I've always seen the stories about blow dry bars in cities such as New York City, Chicago, and Dallas. The primary focus of these places is to just do "blow outs"--they wash and blow dry your hair in a beautiful, voluminous style that will last for days. They do not do normal cuts or color--their primary purpose is to style your hair in a gorgeous blowout!
Even though Cleveland is a major hub in the State of Ohio, I just figured we were never big enough to have these so called blow dry bars--until one day a woman named Christina, the owner of Blo Blow Dry Bar in Strongsville (a suburb of Cleveland) reached out to me regarding their fabulous services and wondered if a friend and I would be willing to come check it out. Hair, styles, and an afternoon with a friend--how could you pass that up?!
We scheduled our Saturday hair appointment on Cinco de Mayo. Not only was it a day of celebration, it was also a gorgeous spring day in Cleveland. The perfect day for a beautiful hair style!

I love this sign! I'm so faithful to Holly at Avalon Salon who I absolutely trust to do my cut, color, and bang maintenance; however, it is great to have blow dry bar options available in my area!

I was able to take my good friend and personal trainer, Rikki, with me for the appointment. When we arrived, Christina and all her staff were so welcoming and friendly! They were sincerely thankful for our patronage, and we are thankful for their service! As you can see from the photos above, the interior is modern, chic, yet so glam! It definitely has the look of a place where you want to go get pampered for a girls night out, wedding, hot date, family party, work event, or just for you!
When you walk in, they provide you with a "Hair Menu" with a variety of styles to choose from. The blow out service typically ranges from $40-45 and consists of a wash, blow dry, and style. Within the hair menu, there is the typical blow out, pillow talk (a wavy hair style), a super straight style, a super curly style, and plenty of braids, updos, and ponies!
Since I already have super straight hair, I opted for the "pillow talk" style. I always attempt this at home but am never fully successful! My friend, Rikki, also did the same.
They typically only need about 30 minutes to an hour, depending upon your hair and style. They use the Unite Hair Care line, which is awesome, and I'm about to buy some products for myself!
The stylists were super friendly, so between talking with them and Rikki, before I knew it, my hair was done!

After settling down, the hair went into a more natural state a few hours later!
We had such a great time and experience at Blo Blow Dry Bar in Strongsville. It is part of a chain, so you may have one near you, if you don't live in Cleveland! If you do, please check it out, as it is the. ONLY Blow Dry Bar in Northeast Ohio and is owned by a wonderful Cleveland business woman! What a great service to have here in our region.
Like I mentioned above, it is typically between $40-45 for a typical blow out, but may cost less or more dependent upon your hair type and what you choose you do. You can get a blow out and add a tiny braid, and they will even add and work with clip in extensions. They offer great deals on work day blowouts on Mondays and Tuesdays for $30! What a great deal to get your blow out for the week or hair done for an important business meeting. I know I cannot wait to go back and try some more unique styles that I would never try on my own, like a fishtail braid or a beautiful, full pony! That is definitely on my to-do list for the summer!
